Forecasts project that Sevier County will be the fastest growing county in the East Tennessee Valley over the coming decade. Population growth forecasts for Sevier County for the period 1990 to 2020 are 93.4% Gross business receipts generated in Pigeon Forge in 2005 totaled $777.6 million, a new record. The annual increase in revenues also set a new record at $63.6 million, surpassing the previous mark by $10 million. The growth in the local economy was broad based and benefited nearly every business category.
