Where are You? You'll find the Rivers Edge condominiums at 1310 Park Road in Sevierville, TN, just off the Smoky Mountain Parkway (TN 66/441). We're a minutes drive from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and only 30 minutes from Knoxville, TN. Sevierville is the gateway city to the Smoky Mountains — a city with a quality of life that reflects the natural beauty found in the mountains and the people of Sevierville. The easiest way to get here is to take I-40 to exit 407 and then head southeast on 66. After a few miles, 66 will merge with 441. Follow this road for approximately 7 miles and take a left onto Park Rd., across from Great China Acrobats.
What's the Weather Like?
Wonderful! Spring time through Autumn are absolutely magnificent, with temperatures averaging around 65 degrees. Summers are perfectly warm, with temps in the 80's and moderate rainfall. Winters are also mild, with occasional snow showers and temperatures in the 40's. The region as a whole receives a good amount of rainfall, but it comes in abrupt mountain downpours as opposed to long, drawn out rainy days. Newcomers soon realize why East Tennessee is becoming some of the most liveable land in the country.
Is there Airport Service Nearby? Yes. Plenty. A private airport for charter planes is only a few miles from Rivers Edge. Knoxville's McGhee-Tyson Airport is a short 30-minute drive and has over 100 commercial flights daily. Nashville, Charlotte and Atlanta's international airports form a triangle around East Tennessee and are all within a 3–4 hour drive.
What Kind of Hospitals, Doctors and Health Care Can We Expect?
The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville is the state's flagship hospital and is only 30 minutes away. You'll also find other outstanding hospitals in Knoxville like The Baptist Center and Fort Sanders. Sevierville is also home to the Covenant Health Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center at 709 Middle Creek Road, Sevierville, TN 37864.
What are the Taxes and Cost of Living Like? Great! The cost of living index in Sevier County is low on a national and regional scale. Tennessee does not levy a state income tax, and Sevier County is one of the fastest-growing counties in Tennessee with one of the lowest crime rates in the United States.
Is There Any Arts & Culture? Lots! In fact, this region is known for serious arts, crafts and Appalachian culture! Sevierville, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are all home to some of the most decorated country music artists in the world like Dolly Parton and Lee Greenwood. You'll find bluegrass music, country music and even rock & roll in numerous venues throughout the region. East Tennessee is also known for it's thriving arts & crafts scene. Sevierville, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are thriving mountain towns with countless amenities and opportunities for locals, including hundreds of restaurants, world-class shopping at the factory outlets, live music, shows, amusement parks and more! Locals also enjoy a minor league baseball team, booming business opportunities and an overall laid back lifestyle. However, the number one draw is the Great Smoky Mountain landscape, with the gentle rolling hills and towering peaks. Enjoy hiking, biking, bird watching, horseback riding, boating, fishing and sightseeing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. No matter where you go, you're always within a spectacular view of the Great Smoky Mountains.
